David Archuleta Top 3 night
In this Moment
Right. So Aside from American Idol, what's happening in my life is...
- I've taken up being a beta reader in FFnet. I've always like writing and editing, but this time it's sort of an "official" job.
- I'm weighing options and looking to see if I have the time and resources for seriously monetizing a blog (whether the current or future one)
- Work has been crazy because we've got a MAJOR event to prepare for and cover... and then one of my teammates is getting married so my workload has doubled @_@
- And a few other things that I can't publicly write about yet. Nyuuuu~
David Archuleta for the win!!!
I mean, seriously. Don't say that he's going to win just because he's a cutie therefore he's popular even if he doesn't have as much talent as Cook. I say NAY! Both of them are very talented... It's just a matter of genre, and whether or not they perform well at the right time.
...And, yes. I've slid back into American Idol. Meh. I shall stop now.

experimenting
But since it's been sooooooooooooooooo long since I designed a personal page, my designs look... weird. So I got a design from Blogger Templates, tweaked it a bit (a LOT) and then... yeah.
Hello~ uber minimal template.
I don't know until when I'm gonna keep this, though. We'll see.

February 2008
...began to redesign my website, and just when I was about to finish the design, I stopped. Don't ask why. I don't know why.
...watched movies!!! The Spiderwick Chronicles rocks! Becoming Jane was nice, too ^_^ 27 Dresses was okay. Happy Feet was fun! I still can't believe I didn't get to watch this one on the big screen. Oooh, ooh! and revisiting The Little Mermaid was just...ARGH! I so love that movie.
...read books! Current reading list: Jane Eyre, Howl's Moving Castle, Persuasion, Neverwhere. I finished Victoria and the Rogue in one sitting... And I wish to put Pride and Prejudice and Twelfth Night back into my bookshelf. Soon.
...wrote stuff. I finished Nathaniel and the Orphan, and I'm trying to start on Jacob and the Heiress.
...began blogging frequently again... only to stop... only to blog again. Yey! Wrote on my wedding date, a Shakespearean website that rocks, the history of 'apir', and a manga that I read.
...chose my American Idol.
And, in the spirit of awards fever, I present to you my blog's top topics for February 2008...
Jose Rizal: Katamaran is the most visited page of the month!
HanaKimi TV
iGoogle Teahouse Ghost Captured
TokiKake: The Girl Who Leapt Through Time is also part of the top 10.

November is here!
Shyeah... I'm excited about NaNoWriMo. Too excited, maybe, especially since I have no idea what I'm going to do once November actually begins. Stare at the screen, maybe. Haha! But, come on, I've been wanting to do this for years -- don't ask me why I never did -- so that excuses my over-eagerness, yeah? XD

month away
Anyway, I pretty much sort of disappeared from the blogging for a while. Too busy with so many stuff that I don't have time to sit down, clear my head and write. I've been active in the Twittersphere, though, making little entries every now and then. I think if I compile all my twits I can come up with a blog entry. Haha!
Anyway, the last month I was able to come up with just 2 journal entries:
in contrast and my wishlist for September 2007.
Nathaniel and the Orphan is at chapter 12 right now, and Chap 13 is next on the list.
I've finally started a new blog (the one I've been planning for months) but since I'm still fixing it up and planning my entries, I'm not launching it yet.
So...yey.
And happy birthday to Random Snowflakes! It's now three years old! Lalala~

page one!
Okay. I know I probably shouldn't be so freaking giddy over this, but...
Heeheehee.
I redeemed my name!!!!!!! Bwahahaha!
*ahem*
Okay. A bit of history. Two months ago today, when you Googled "Sarah Cada", my website was NOT on the first page. It was on the 6th.
The sixth!!!
Aiyayayay.
The first several SERPs are filled with links pointing to a certain doctor with the same name. I don't know if it's just one doctor, or if there's a lot of them. I think there's more than one, because I distinctly remember one link being Sarah Cada MD and the other one Sarah Cada PhD. And some of the pages are in Spanish. So yeah. Coulda been different people.
Well, sor-ry for ranting about that, but it's MY name!
But, anyway. That's the past.
This is the present:
...Okay, fine, so the second result is not me, but hey! The other links after that are me! Memememememe!
Heeeheeeheee....

May28 - June4
Although I'm very attached to my current layout, I'm making a new one, following my own advice in my TriNoMa post. I think I'll start using it next week.
Yey, I made another $40 off of my blog last week! Hehehe. I wish offers would come more frequently. Aaaaaarrrrr work work work!

quadruple!
I'm very very happy to say that my stats are continually improving! I thought that, after my episode with Problogger's Top 5 Group Writing Project, my pageview count was going to plummet back down to ground zero. But, surprisingly, my pageviews had been maintained at 10-15 views/day. Not a phenomenal number, but a relatively good number, nonetheless. Compared to March's 0-2 views per day, that's really good, isn't it?
My own reaction to my traffic was funny. Part of me wanted to say "Nyerks. Just 15 views?", yet the other part of me jumped up and down at the improvement. It did take a lot of effort reading up on SEO and taking action to implement what I learned. I'm not really sure which strategy helped my traffic, though. Haha!
Linkbaiting is an art, really. I took a week to focus on getting my traffic up, and it made my Technorati ranking go from 485,994 to 99,006 in seven days. Like, whoa! (Yes, I actually kept track.)
In case you want to try and do the same thing for your site, here's the stuff I did:
I got my links out there by commenting on blogs. Aside from encouraging other bloggers by leaving a positive or helpful reaction or critique, leaving your URL on the blogs can help your linkage. When people read your comment and see how helpful you are (or how you think the same way they do), they just might click on the link and visit your site. And they just might like it! Yey for you, if that's the case.
I also joined bloglistings. There are a hundred gazzillion directories out there, and you're bound to find one that fits you best. Scroll down, and you can see the buttons of the listings I joined. All of them are free, I think, so go nuts and submit away! :)
Contests are fun because they not only give you something to blog about, but they also give you a chance to win cash, and, on top of that, get linkage! Contests usually list and link the entries, so that's link love for you.
I got on the Technorati train, but I haven't checked if anybody got on the train after me. Seeing that my Technorati authority spiked up (and people are faving my blog), I think it's safe to say that it's effective! Try it!
Heeheehee. This may not be a tutorial on how to make your site popular, but I hope you got something out of it. Good luck!

Finally
Ramblings of a Princess is a compilation of my technical, artistic, and personal work hosted in different parts of the net. It's sort of a turnpike, but not quite. As of writing, this website is officially... 2 hours old. I finally, finally got my own domain. Ahahaha. I guess this is my new job/birthday/Christmas/promotion/summer gift to myself.
So, yey! Have a look around. I'm still developing this, so some areas may lack content. But what the heck, right?
Journal is my personal blog. Hosted at SarahCada.com, managed through Blogger.
Books are my works of fiction. Ink, paper, and all the words in between. Currently hosted at Fictionpress.
The Sketchpad contains select art, both traditionally drawn or rendered through Adobe Photoshop. All other works are hosted in deviantArt.com.
Select photography pieces, art shots and snapshots, are in Photos. All other images are hosted in Photobucket.
Enjoy!
